I believe in faeries, and I hope you do, too. For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with all the inhabitants of the Realm of Faerie, not just the light and airy winged variety. As beautiful and dainty as they are, they don’t encompass the totality of the fabric of reality and creation. Wherever there is light, there must dark be also.
But oh, how I do love the shimmer and sparkle of the Victorian faeries, those graceful little sprites who dance and flutter among the flowers! Relative newcomers to the scene they may be, but their coquettish charm is just as vital to our understanding and appreciation of the ongoing cycle of life as are the more ancient (and rather scary) archetypes.
The winged and dainty fae help to keep our inner child awake, healthy and lively, forever open to the wonders and marvels of the universe. Let's release our inner child to run free and our spirit to take wing, and we'll flit among the flowers and soar along the arches of iridescent rainbows. Let us be happy and have fun!
A practicing Green, Natural and Faerie witch, I love to write, turn shredded junk mail into paper and handmade paper into suede-bound journals, dyed leather into small faerie pouches that glitter and jingle, mold polymer clay, wire and yarn into fanciful fae who bend and pose, create necklaces, bracelets, ear bobs and rings, make incense and oils, potions and lotions, soaps and salts -- why, anything to avoid cooking and cleaning!
Beloved by three Yorkshire terriers, hummingbirds and dragonflies, I'm a garden patroness of hibiscus, walking iris and birds of paradise. I do computer graphics for fun (I make my own banners) and I'm struggling to get a handle on this photography thing (what a chore!). My avatar is my last OOAK Flower Faerie Cat creation (although I confess, we resemble each other only slightly--I lost my wings quite some time ago!); she's living at the edge of the desert in Utah now, watching over my darling Grandmother.
