World on a String Necklace

The centerpiece of this necklace is a globe-like shape emerging from a spiral formation. The spiral shape was created with tubular herringbone stitch in three different size beads. Attached to the spiral is the necklace stitched in square stitch which circles back to a wooden ball covered with beads. The stitching of the globe shape gives it the appearance of equatorial, latitudinal and longitudinal lines.

All stitching is done with Nymo beading thread and Czech seed beads. The spiral portion of the necklace is open so the cord can be removed for easy wear. Total length is 25"
